My New Year's Resolution

1) To blog more.

Actually...it's not, but I'm sure my husband would appreciate me if it was. I'm a much better blogger in my head. In my head, I'm also much better at playing pool. I always come up with really creative blogs, but they never actually make it onto the computer.

2) Eat less M&Ms.

Matt just started calling me Candy. Candy Toy. Nice. I think I'll work on a little self-control in the upcoming year. Actually, our very first fight as a married couple was about my over consumption of M&Ms.

Merry Christmas from the Toys

Merry Christmas from the Toys. This has been an amazing year for the Toy family and we are so grateful for our friends and family. God has been very gracious with the addition of Annie and so many other things. We feel so blessed.

Annie Mac

Annie is really artsy. She loves to take photos and upload them to her facebook. She is so tech saavy.

Halfway to One!

Annie is 6 months old! Crazy how time flies back when there's a bouncing baby girl around the house to entertain us. I am feeling very accomplished on two accounts:

1) I actually took notes this month on what Annie has been up to.

2) It's only December 7th and I'm already posting this!

Here are Annie's 6 month stats:

Height - 27.5" (97%...wonder where she gets that from? No tall people around here....)

Weight - 16 lbs, 6 oz (60%)

Head - 16.73 (50% I think)

Here's what Annie's been up to this month:

- Rolling over...still prefers back to tummy and only to the right unless she's forced to go left!

- Loves to stand up holding on to you and loves to jump when you're holding her

- Can sit up for several minutes at a time (this is a brand-new-within-the-last-few-days development)

- Has eaten rice cereal a few times and seemed to like it at first, but is not so interested now.

- Loves to make raspberry noises when she's upset...it's pretty cute!

- Grabbing for everything and even knocked over her very first glass of water at a restaurant because I wasn't paying attention. I'm sure it will be the first of many.

- Still loves the exersaucer jumper!

- Making her sit in the bouncy seat won't last much longer...I turned my back for two seconds today and she had almost escaped.

- LOVES to sleep with her legs propped up on the side o

f the crib. Even if we put her in the back corner of the crib, by the time she falls asleep, she's wiggled over to the side of the crib.

- She made it through her first cold! No fun for Annie or us...

- Props up on her elbows and plays and grabs for toys...she especially loves her singing monkey book, and her light-up bug.

- Recognizes voices and turns towards them...especially likes

her daddy's!

- Laughs when she sits on my stomach when I'm doing sit ups (which, of course, is multiple times a day - ha!)

- Found her toes a couple of weeks ago and loves to suck on them when she's in the bathtub.

If you made it through that list...congrats! It was a long one!

Congrats Uncle Dave and Aunt Christa

Annie got to show off her pretty dress and her bow that matched the bridesmaids at her Uncle David and Aunt Christa's wedding. She was very excited to see the whole Musgrove/Moss crew at the wedding. Grandma and Grandpa Toy came in and watched little Annie during some of the photos and late night festivities too!

Our Little Pumpkin

Our little pumpkin was looking quite cute in her little pumpkin outfit on Halloween! She didn't do much trick-or-treating this year, but she did help us hand out a few Butterfingers to the 5 trick-or-treaters that we had. She also watched me eat a few. I mean one. She watched me eat just one.... I'm already teaching her how to consume candy in moderation.


On Sunday morning, after some convincing by my husband, we took Annie to church in her pumpkin outfit. As we were getting her out of the car, a lady told us that we had the cutest little boy in a carrot outfit. Ummm.....thanks?!?

Sweet Annie

I know that our 6 family members only come here for the pictures and not for our eloquent writing, so I'll keep this short and sweet. We went to the park last weekend with some friends and our friend Emily took this sweet picture of Annie. She wasn't quite big enough to enjoy the slides and the swings, but she sure was looking cute all bundled up in her coat!

Understanding Annie

Annie is a very smart girl. She is seen in this video talking to her adoring fans. If you listen closely, you can hear her saying, "I can't wait to go to Miami for college. Oxford, Ohio here I come."

Kris Kross will make you... sleep

Little Annie was enjoying a nice morning jump when she got REALLY sleepy. So she jumped and then took a break and started falling asleep. Then she jumped a little more and then a little closer to sleep. And finally after a little more jumping, she fell asleep. It is a tough world for little Annie.
